The Nymph’s Dream

This is an oil painting on canvas that I created this year. One day, a nymph lies down under a tree and has a dream. In this dream, she appears with wings, and beside her is her beloved, now-deceased pet—a black winged dog—along with several Indian geese, who were waiting for the nymph to join them through her dream. The work is considered symbolist; the Indian geese symbolize freedom, self-improvement, and spiritual wisdom; and also, as a migratory bird, they symbolize important transitions in life. The color violet symbolizes spirituality and transformation, while blue symbolizes serenity and stability. The figures move from right to left toward a destination we do not know; all we know is that the nymph is happy and does not want to wake up.
