The Capybara Nymph. The Amazonian Naiad. Peruvian Mythology.

This is another large-scale personal work in oil on canvas. It depicts a nymph—in this case, an Amazonian naiad—resting on the grass and on a rock. Several capybaras are shown surrounding the Naiad as if to protect her from predators; in return, she gathers fruit from the trees to feed them. In the background, dense vegetation and mud bordering the river can be seen.
