This oil painting depicts a faun and a Nereid resting on a beach. The faun appears melancholic, while the Nereid is lost in thought. Both have their eyes closed, each pondering good or evil. The atmosphere is calm and poetic. Warm and cool colors abound. The work is inspired by the Symbolist movement of centuries past. This is one of the largest paintings I have created to date.
